Care & Share Food Drive

Big changes for 2024!

The Care & Share Food Drive has been a beloved community tradition for nearly 40 years. We’ve listened to your feedback and made exciting new updates to improve the way we support our community!

What’s New?

With these sweeping changes, we aim to make the largest annual donation yet to support our friends at BMAC, while focusing on greater efficiency and reducing waste.

  1. Door Hanger Information: Our biggest change this year is No More Plastic Bags! Because we will no longer be doing full canvassing pickups, we have created many more ways for you to donate to our local food pantry! To share the new information our volunteers will be delivering Orange Door Hangers to your neighborhood.

  2. Donate At Your Grocery Store: it is a top priority to not only make sure that donations are convenient for you, but making sure that all food donations are fresh is very important to the food pantry. To help with this, we put a donation barrel at your neighborhood grocery store so that you can pick up donation items while you do your regular shopping! Weekends throughout October, look for our volunteers to learn more about the programs at BMAC, and what specific items are in need.

  3. Drop-Off Event: Sunday, October 20th, 12-4pm. Our volunteers will be at the Baker Boyer Bank Plaza Way (Safeway) parking lot location ready to accept your non-perishable food donation items! Since we are no longer passing out the orange plastic bags, please bring your pantry donation items to this location for donation!

  4. Accessibility Pick-Up: we understand that not everyone may be able to bring their pantry items in for donation at our drop off event. Please [method of contact] to schedule a pick up of your donation items by one of our volunteers.

  5. Cash Donations: your monetary donations are utilized by BMAC to purchase large quantities of food to stock the local pantry. Please use the QR code here to donate directly. You can also look for this QR code's around downtown the whole month of October! Local shops and restaurants will be sharing our information on posters and table tents.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to working together to make this year’s drive one to remember!

We are excited to invite you to be a crucial part of this year’s Care & Share Food Drive! With over 30 years of service to our community, this event has become a cornerstone of helping families in need. However, with recent changes in state policies, we are facing our biggest challenge yet to revamp and enhance the drive—and we need your help to make it a success!

In this sign-up form, you’ll find several opportunities to get involved. You can choose to help with as many tasks as you’d like and the volunteer coordinator will reach out to you.
